THE STORY

hired assassin is challenged by a royal guard during an attempt on the King's life. Amidst their struggle, a frightful storm witch appears and kidnaps the King for herself!

The assassin and the guard both need the King returned -- albeit for different reasons. With a Goblin War looming and time running out, they must band together and find passage to the witch's cursed island.

In this classic dungeon crawler, build a party of two characters, one wicked and one kind, and guide them on their quest. How you choose to balance their duality will determine the fate of the kingdom!

THE ENDINGS

I ran out of time for making the game  display the different endings for Chapter One (yikes!), so you'll have to read them here.

  • 100% Wicked - You murder all of the pirates and take over their boat. Ahoy!
  • 50% Wicked/Kind - You survive the pirate voyage, ready for the next challenge.
  • 100% Kind - You convince the pirates to give up their life of crime and join you on your quest, or something.

This was really neat! Would love to play a full version!

Thank you for the encouragement. There's always a temptation to move on to new jams rather than, ya know, ever "finish" anything. I am pretty happy with the basics of this one, so I'm excited to expand.

I second this.  The simplicity and the retro Mac aesthetic are appealing.
